Ski-test 2022/23: all the news from Blizzard!

Today we want to offer you the best news and confirmations of the Blizzard range for the 2022/23 season, let's discover the Austrian house's track and freeski together!

The flagship product in the GS racecarver field is the Blizzard Firebird WRC WC-Piston, which confirms the goodness of the Firebird project and amazed more than one tester for the simplicity with which the Blizzard technicians managed to combine an apparently light structure with a deformation very homogeneous  to the granitic stability in every situation. The Austrian product is especially appreciated for the comfort of management, thus emphasizing the touring vocation rather than the racing one of the product. In fact, the ski never tires even after prolonged use, it has a excellent edge grip and always remains attached to the ground. The Blizzard Firebird SRC WC-Piston is instead the proposal in the SL racecarver field. The ski has a good structure, important and solid, which resembles a racing ski in its responses. The ski is very stable although very easy to handle, it allows you to close every curve well because it does not jolt excessively, and it is easy to change pace. The main aspect of this product, in addition to the very reactive structure, is the ease of cornering it, with a not sudden but very intuitive curve entry. There are two proposals in the all-round performance field proposed for our tests. The first is the Blizzard Thunderbird R18 LTD. Our skiers had a great time with the Thunderbird on their feet, which proved to be a fully centered ski, which confirms its practically 100% compliance with the profile and is rewarded for the combination of stability (100 % of positive votes) and handling in medium-wide corners and for these reasons it obtains the recognition of "Chosen by Testers" for next season in the "all-round performance" category. It allows you to search for the limit, it gives you safety and stability, continue always the terrain, with a very balanced elastic response when changing from one turn to another, says the Roman instructor in the interview at the end of the test. Just below we find the Blizzard Thunderbird R15 Ltd: it is a versatile and very safe, suitable for all types of skiers, it gets excellent marks in handling and stability and is designed for those skiers who are not looking for the grip and performance of the GS racecarver but are well centered in the c all-round category. skiers who are not looking for the performance of the giant or even the complications of the same. It is a ski capable of going both slow and hard. You can use it all day long whether you're skiing hard or quietly. This is perhaps the most important aspect, the ability to adapt, which emerges under the heading "driving" in our file. On rougher terrain it begins to feel too much vibration and appears too heavy and structured for an average audience. Always in the all-round field, the Austrian company offers the Blizzard Firebird HRC WC-Piston. The structure is always present, offers good grip throughout the day but begins to suffer on hard snow. The best results are obtained in medium curves, ideal terrain for Austrian skiing, especially if on not too steep slopes and with homogeneous and compact snow. The ski receives a very homogeneous average in the votes on the test card, a sign that the Blizzard technicians have hit the profile described, without rewarding one aspect to the detriment of another. The new product of the Austrian house, proposed in the allround tourism sector, is the Blizzard Firebird RTI: a centered ski, which has found the general approval of our Test Team and which stands as a valid proposal in the category for the 2022/23 season. It is a ski suitable for all arcs of curve, easy to use and just make the right movements and the ski turns, it doesn't fear slopes and gives you safety in support throughout the curve. The Firebird RTI does not excel in edge grip, it is not quick to enter corners but it has an excellent feeling: it is immediately intuitive to enter and allows you to adapt to any speed, it helps driving and centrality without tiring The ski is recommended for advanced skiers, from advanced level 4 to level 6, for those who want to ski on winter snow, not too icy and especially all day long. In Freeride Blizzard never disappoints! For several years now we have found the Freeride skis of the Austrian brand always at the top of the rankings, excellent results obtained thanks to highly performing products and always in step with the times as regards structure and geometries . The Hustle 11 model is a performing Big Mountain freeride ski, with generous geometries that make it the ideal ski for powder days, a double rocker in the tip and tail and a flat camber that helps even more in flotation on deep powder snow. Extremely structured ski with a "breaking" tip, suitable for all types of snow, stable both when riding and in the aerial phase from jumps or cliffs. Ideal for freeride, powder days, Big Mountain and Freeride Derby competitions, heliski, backcountry, natural jumps such as cliffs and lips or self-built in the backcountry. Recommended for both male and female users with a technical level in off-piste skiing. The Blizzard Rustler 10, tested by NeveItalia testers on the snow of Carosello 3000 in March 2021 is confirmed for the 2022/2023 season. It has proved to be a performing and structured ski, precise and stable in every curve at all speeds. It prefers steep slopes, excellent in deformation and in the release phase. Raised and medium hard tail, excellent on any type of snow and slope, a real pleasure to have it on your feet. Excellent weight distribution and structure, at high speeds a really very nice ski both on wide curves and on medium curves. It can also be used for short uphill sections with the aid of the skins to search for still "virgin" spots for a maximum difference in height of 300-500m. The Blizzard Bonafide 97, on the other hand, is the product designed for all-mountain freeride. Equipped with an excellent structure, the ski is responsive to every impulse and agile on any snowpack. Floatation is its trump card, even if in the long run it is a ski that tires a lot: most of the testers found this type of ski tiring from a physical point of view, in relation to the fact that being a structured and performing ski it at the expense of the total weight of the ski. It is also good in riding, beautiful in powder and good even on minced, finding it not very manoeuvrable on tight curves and requiring considerable strength in the legs. The coach Alberto Sugliano, after trying the product, defined it as easy to use. full "Throttle" skiing in high speed descents on very steep slopes. Finally, Blizzard brings the Zero G 95 model to the freeride/ski mountaineering test of NeveItalia for the first time and obtains a considerable appreciation, both from the testers closest to the world of freeride and from the more mountaineering testers. The ski reveals an excellent ratio between weight and performance, precise and reactive, performs well in any curve radius, requires skiing that is always present and reactive. It is a ski that immediately conveys a feeling of lightness and is well steered throughout the curve, very suitable for ski mountaineering as it is very agile and with good buoyancy on fresh snow. Light and precise, stable in any type of curve and in any situation and snow condition. Recommended for both male and female users of medium/high technical level, ski mountaineers who love long ascents and considerable positive difference in height, skitouring 50% ascent and 50% descent.
