SKI TEST 2025/26: here are the best SL racecarvers!

This year we have a tie: our Test Team and our algorithm could not decide, so we are awarding two Gold Medals in the racecarver SL category, recognising both the Rossignol Hero Master ST and the Völkl Racetiger SL!

The Rossignol Hero Master ST M13 R22 is now a bestseller for the French brand. It has been on the market for several years and, like its LT sibling, has redrawn the standards for the category. It is a reactive, powerful and stable ski throughout the turn, with plenty of energy on the exit and "brutal" edge grip.

The Völkl Racetiger SL, on the other hand, is a very easy, stable and fun product, characterised by its excellent flex and incredible rebound. It is a ski that can easily be used all day, and it is surprising how easy it is to ski without excessive energy expenditure, performing both at the limit and at more moderate speeds.

Also worthy of note, and recognised for its excellent performance in medium-radius turns, is the Atomic Redster S9 Revoshock S, a ski that proved demanding but stable, aggressive, solid and without any loss of performance. In everyday use, it was the best ski in medium-radius turns, showing that it avoids the main shortcoming of an SL ski: being limited to one type of turn. The new Redster S9 Revoshock is instead more versatile and appealing to a broader audience.
