TEST: Blizzard Magnesium GS 182 and 185cm

Blizzard has a house in Italy is not prominent (than others) in terms of absolute sales in the consumer market, but it offers fans of amateur races very valid models are directly derived, with slight modifications, from tools used in World Cup. Examples are the Blizzard GS 182 and 185 cm we tested.

The Austrian, just won the cup with a specialty in slalom Herbst, presented in very high-performance GS models, and we've focused on human models, such as 182 and 185 cm, leaving out the measures to the 190, surely the preserve of athletes stronger but more difficult to manage.

Magnesium GS Race is a 185 cm ski that is, in our opinion, the ideal ski for the amateur athlete, which is not much time for training and dispute a dozen races a year. It does not require excessive physical effort and offers rewards worth the long models.

Skiing is appreciated from the first curve, thanks to flex very gradually on all types of terrain, both on hard and on soft or spoiled. And this is a great innovation for Blizzard, who often appeared, even in the following sizes, skis very rigid, sometimes difficult to handle for lighter skiers.

The turn-in is working well, is not straightforward as in other modern GS skis, but once I took the ski edge, slips away quickly. Stability, despite the (apparent?) Lower hardness is always at the highest levels.

The output curve is very simple and fast: the ski is released with impressive ease and this allows you to correctly set the path to deal with the next door, or correct a smear in a few meters.

A defect can be found in the way that "undergoes" the preparation, if apt, well-made skiing is perfect, with a rather mediocre preparation skiing becomes slower and more difficult to turn. Of course, it is common to each ski this fate, but the Blizzard feels so amplified. The Blizzard Magnesium GS Race

182 cm is the younger brother and is a ski designed for strong women, is derived directly from the slopes of the European Cup and then, though shorter, is no longer easy.

It is very hard to ensure excellent stability on slopes crossed and if taken decisively and aggressively follows the skiing.

corner entry, because of a sidecut of the spatula under the 185 cm wide, is faster and easier, but the output is to require some extra attention. Just past the post in fact you can not withdraw or reduce too much skiing: The queues are hard to go straight. We must continue the curve on its natural arch, without cutting too much or "tailing". This can be seen as helping to maintain the roundness or a compulsion to not being able to ski as you want.

In any case, the technical work of the Austrian Blizzard of these two fireballs is exemplary and above, with prices generally more accessible than the more famous competitors, is a highly recommended purchase for those who want to have fun in goal the giant.

Si ringrazia lo Sci Center by Black Jack di Bressanone per averci messo a disposizione questi due sci, preparati ottimamente.
