For next season, Rossignol is raking in awards in both freeride and piste skiing, with no fewer than three gold medals! Let’s take a look at the models our Test Team tried out for you.
According to our tests and the results from our testers’ evaluation sheets, the French brand comes out on top in the three most representative categories: racecarver GS, allround performance and freeride, winning three “Gold Medals” among the skis selected by the testers!
Let’s take a look at all 13 models tested for next season.
At the top of the range, Rossignol offers the Hero Master line, with the Rossignol Hero Master LT M17 still firmly in charge, the undisputed king of the GS category for years. It is a ski with progressive flex, precise and stable, with a clean turn entry, soft underfoot and with an excellent elastic rebound that inspires confidence in the user.
Next we find the excellent Rossignol Hero Master ST R22 in the racecarver SL category, which loses the medals won in previous years but confirms itself as a top-level product (even too much so for the category). It is a true slalom ski, hard, stable and precise in every turn radius, surprisingly easy to initiate into the turn while remaining nimble at low and medium speeds.
Just below, we find the Hero Elite line, with the excellent Hero Elite LT Ti, Hero Elikte ST Ti and Hero Elite MT Ti CAM models.
The first two are the versions for long-radius (LT) and short-radius (ST) turns, while MT is for medium-radius turns: they are characterised by a solid yet comfortable construction that combines versatility, simplicity and ease of handling. The Hero Elite skis are fun and practically steer themselves, easy to initiate but secure when carving through the turn.
In the allround performance category, the French brand is represented by the Rossignol Forza 70+ Master, alongside the new version with a Konect plate.
The former wins the “Gold Medal” as the ski selected by the testers in the allround performance category, offering the modern skier fun, stability and comfort and, above all, a product that is always ready to respond to the skier’s commands.
The Forza range continues in the allround sector with the Forza 60 and Forza 50, which fit perfectly into the path set by the Forza 70.
They are aimed at intermediate skiers (L5/L6) looking for something easy to handle, fun and highly adaptable to different turn radii. The ski enters the turn with little pressure, making edge engagement and carving easier.
In the freeski category, on the other hand, we tested the Sender and Escaper lines.
The former is a ski for pure freeriding, with 110 mm underfoot—a perfect companion for powder days, with graphics, construction and comfort at the top of its category—and it was rightly named the “Testers’ Choice” ski for next season, earning the Gold Medal.
The Rossignol Escaper 88 Nano, on the other hand, is the model presented in our tests for touring and ski mountaineering. It is versatile and offers the right compromise between uphill comfort and downhill performance. It is an easy, lightweight and intuitive ski: it performs well at turn initiation, but also works very well during flex and release, proving elastic and progressive.
