“Pure as snow” is the “made in Trentino” machine capable of disinfecting gondola lifts in less than two seconds.

“Pure as snow”. This is the name of the compact machine designed in Trentino, in Rovereto, by the company Elettromeccanica Adige to sanitize the cable cars in less than two seconds during the dead time between the arrival of the cabin at the station and the ascent.
The disinfectant is able to withstand up to -10 ° and in these days the machine has been used in Pinzolo where the slopes are open for ski club training.
"The idea came to us during the summer maintenance of the ski lifts that we do every year. Speaking with the service managers, we discovered that the cleaning of the cabins, perhaps even 100 or 150 on a single ski lift, is usually done manually, by an employee equipped with a sprayer ”explains Sergio Andreolli, owner of Elettromeccanica Adige.
The machine, thanks to special sensors, "reads" the arrival of the cabin at the station and automatically disinfects the air and surfaces.
The project received a contribution of 50 thousand euros thanks to the “SME Covid” tender funded by the Autonomous Province of Trento and managed by Trentino Sviluppo.
The project was also submitted to the professors of the University of Trento Giandomenico Nollo and Francesco Tessarolo, respectively experts in industrial engineering and new materials, to identify a sanitizing, nebulized product capable of withstanding low temperatures.
Before Pinzolo, the “Pure as snow” machine had already been tested in Livigno and in Val di Fiemme on the Cermis.
Valeria Ghezzi, President of Anef (National Association of Cable Car Operators) also expressed her positive opinion: "As a trade association that is always close to and attentive to technological innovation, ANEF wishes to express its interest in supporting this machine, which could become one useful tool to guarantee the safety of workers and tourists who use the ski lifts and in particular thanks to the possible use of a highly innovative product, it will allow to disinfect the rooms of the cabins and cableways without toxicity ".
An intelligent, safe and efficient sanitation system that in the future could also be used in other closed spaces such as buses.
