South Tyrol at Covid risk, is the only Alpine region with less than 70% vaccinated people

More and more Covid patients and a high percentage of no-vax: is the winter season at stake in South Tyrol? The councilor for health of the Province of Bolzano, Thomas Widmann launches a cry of alarm: the number of Covid patients in the hospitals of South Tyrol has been increasing for weeks and could soon push beyond the limits of tolerance, causing the province to slide in the orange areas, with fatal consequences for the tourism economy.

Alto Adige is the only Alpine region which, according to the ministerial data of yesterday 29 October, had not yet exceeded the percentage of 70% of the vaccinated population. In recent days there has been insistent talk of a lockdown only for unvaccinated people, a measure that would be borrowed from neighboring Austria. In fact, Vienna is considering resorting to the measure to stop Covid in the event that the beds in intensive care exceed 30% of the total capacity.
