This week the figure reaches 0.95 (the average between 0.86 and 1.06) compared to 0.84 last week and the previous one as well. Experts fear this is the prelude to a new wave of the epidemic. And an assessment by the CTS appears, which warns: "Dangerous to restart skiing now".

Ready, steady, maybe go, maybe not! We are at the moment when the stop could come at any time. The difference from the past is perhaps the presence in the government team of numerous polycytic exponents close to the world of the mountains. Alpine regions are no longer so far away, they are no longer distant entities ruled by the opposition. Caution prevails for now, but a decision will have to be made by tonight.
"The reopening of ski lifts presents various epidemiological risks, and therefore absolute precaution is needed in the face of a complex situation also due to the spread of viral variants". These are the words leaked by the CTS, which emphasizes above all how new openings could serve as a sounding board for the ongoing increase in the Rt index.
The main winter resorts in Italy are ready to leave on Monday or Tuesday. During the last week, many have spent the nights planning activities, ensuring safety rules according to the protocol and in compliance with the limits imposed by law. A new stop would be a blow that follows many hits received to date, without all of this having ever been compensated by adequate refreshments.
The regions are for openness but want to avoid a confrontation with the government. Everyone is hoping for a mediation that allows for openness while increasing security, but a balance at the moment seems very difficult to find.
A decision that probably would not upset the economics of the ski resorts, since if the Rt index in the last week has gone from 0.84 to 0.95, continuing on this path it will very likely that soon most of the Alpine regions turn orange and therefore the implants, at the gates of the month of March will still be forced within a few days to mark the end of the season.
What is surprising and what is maintained by the previous government is this sort of "terror against skiing, seen as a sort of spreading agent of the virus, absolutely incomprehensible since it is an outdoor activity".
