Summer holidays in the mountains have experienced an important revival phase in recent years. In the Dolomites and the Alps but also in the Apennines, there is a real boom in tourist presences in the summer. The contact with nature, the choice of a safe location away from the crowds are among the reasons for this growth. The JFC study center of Ferruzzi Massimo has developed detailed statistics for 5 major issues ranging from relaxation and "green" tourism to tourism for families and young people.

"It is undeniable that the interest in mountain and Apennine destinations is constantly growing even in the summer of 2022. In fact - says Massimo Feruzzi, CEO of JFC - the share of Italians who have taken or will take a vacation or a holiday is growing this summer. short break heading towards the mountain. This incremental figure, combined with a parallel increase in Italian and foreign tourist flows, will lead overall - in the summer of 2022 - to reach 71 million presences in the Italian mountain and Apennine areas at hotel and extra-hotel accommodation facilities of various kinds, second homes. , etc .: of these, 24 million will be the attendance registered at the accommodation facilities. An important figure, if compared to the 49 million visitors registered last year in these areas. In the ranking of mountain and Apennine destinations, the one that gets the highest consensus among our compatriots is Cortina d'Ampezzo, followed by Courmayeur and Madonna di Campiglio. It thus emerges that not only in winter, but also in summer, these destinations maintain their leadership position. In the individual rankings, however, Courmayeur, followed by Bormio and Bressanone were indicated as the most “relaxing and peaceful” destinations; Livigno, San Vigilio di Marebbe and Molveno as the most "green" destinations. Furthermore, Italians consider Andalo, Asiago and Canazei the most "family" destinations, while the most "fun" destination is Madonna di Campiglio, followed by Cortina d'Ampezzo and Livigno. Finally, the Italians indicate Cortina d'Ampezzo as the most "trendy" mountain / Apennine destination, followed by Courmayeur and Madonna di Campiglio ". THE GREENEST ITALIAN MOUNTAIN / APENNINE DESTINATION - SUMMER 2022 The destination considered green by the Italians, therefore identified for an accentuated environmental sensitivity, is Livigno with 403 points, followed by San Vigilio di Marebbe with 378 points, while Molveno ranks third with 355 points. Following this, we find in fourth place the Aosta Valley Courmayeur with 311 points, Canazei with 289 points, Breuil-Cervinia with 276 points, Cortina d'Ampezzo with 267 points and Cogne with 211 points. THE MOST ENTERTAINING ITALIAN MOUNTAIN / APENNINES - SUMMER 2022 As for the young target, with the funniest locations, Madonna di Campiglio ranks at the top of this ranking with a score of 333 points, followed by Cortina d'Ampezzo with 167 points and Livigno with 164 points. Courmayeur follows with 161 points. THE MOST FAMILY ITALIAN MOUNTAIN / APENNINE DESTINATION - SUMMER 2022 Moving on to the third ranking - therefore the mountain / Apennine destinations considered more suitable for holidays for families with children - it emerges that in the summer of 2022 Andalo ranks at the top of this ranking with a score of 376 points, followed by Asiago with 333 points, while in third place is Canazei with 311 points. Followed by Madonna di Campiglio with 267 points, Moena with 244 points and Ortisei with 241 points. THE MOST RELAXING AND QUIET ITALIAN MOUNTAIN DESTINATION - SUMMER 2022 As for the mountain / Apennine destinations considered to be the most relaxing and peaceful at national level, Courmayeur ranks at the top of this ranking with a score of 310 points, followed by Bormio with 306 points, while in third place is Bressanone with 278 points. The set of assessments relating to the individual elements subjected to assessment lead to the general ranking, with an indication of the top 20 mountain and / or Apennine destinations. A ranking that sees the Venetian town of Cortina d'Ampezzo as the queen destination of summer 2022, with an overall score of 1,172 votes. In second place is the Aosta Valley Courmayeur with 1,144 votes and in third place, however, a destination from thirty: it is Madonna di Campiglio, with 920 points. In the fourth we find the Lombard Livigno (918 points), followed by another Trentino destination, namely Canazei (913 points). We return to Veneto for the sixth position, where we find Asiago and Altopiano dei 7 Comuni with 901 points, followed by two other Trentino locations: Andalo with 823 points and Moena with 813 points. The research "The Top Mountain / Apennine Destinations in the summer of 2022" was conducted through 2 different sets of surveys (6/24 June 2022 and 12/26 July 2022) for a total of 2,485 CATI-CAWI questionnaires to a representative sample of residents in Italy with an age between 18 and 74 years.
