Coronavirus, the plants of Trentino-Alto Adige close

Trentino-Alto Adige closes the season early due to the coronavirus.

In line with the directives of the Italian government, Trentino has adopted a series of preventive measures to stem the spread of coronavirus. As of March 11, all the ski lifts are expected to close, a number of demonstrations and events have been suspended and - until April 3 - museums, cinemas and libraries will remain closed. Also in South Tyrol the accommodation facilities and the ski lifts will close from Wednesday 11 March until at least 3 April next. Arno Kompatscher, President of the Autonomous Province of South Tyrol said: "The most important thing now is to contain the virus so that we can protect our guests and all South Tyrolean citizens. Therefore, in my opinion, these closings are necessary. It is a sign of maximum responsibility on the part of tour operators ".
