While waiting for the competent authorities to express themselves on precautionary measures regarding the use of the ski lifts for the winter season 2020-21, Dolomiti Superski has developed a series of measures aimed at guaranteeing the safety and tranquility of the customers who want spend your winter holidays on the slopes. These are measures aimed at avoiding direct contact and gatherings as much as possible, especially exploiting the potential of the web.

On Saturday 28 November 2020 the opening of lifts and slopes in the first tranche of the Dolomite valleys is scheduled: Cortina d'Ampezzo, Plan de Corones, Carezza, 3 Cime Dolomiti, Val di Fiemme / Obereggen, San Martino di Castrozza / Passo Rolle and Owl. In view of this important moment, Dolomiti Superski has worked hard to develop a series of measures aimed at guaranteeing ski enthusiasts maximum tranquility and safety during their holiday on the slopes of the Dolomites, in full compliance with the rules. "We care about you" is the intention of Dolomiti Superski for the coming winter season and wants to underline the fact that the largest ski carousel in the world takes care of its guests, putting in place a 360-degree commitment focused on the needs of those who spend their winter holidays and those who spend their days skiing in the Dolomites.
Let's find out what are the measures studied by Dolomiti Superski in addition to the general ones, provided by the competent authorities.
Skilifts
The guidelines governing the activity of the ski lifts are of national, regional and / or provincial competence, in the case of autonomous provinces. These institutions will define the methods of access, the use of personal protection systems, distancing, sanitation, etc. Dolomiti Superski will implement the provisions of the regulations and will immediately notify the public.
Seasonal and multi-day ski passes
The lockdown in March 2020 took everyone by surprise, including Dolomiti Superski. In the meantime, the ski carousel and the associated ski areas have communicated the rebalancing measures proposed to the holders of seasonal ski passes, who were unable to ski until the end of the scheduled season.
For the next winter season 2020-21, Dolomiti Superski has instead developed a system of guarantees in order to immediately ensure maximum transparency and safety for those who purchase seasonal or multi-day ski passes. Those who decide to purchase a Dolomiti Superski seasonal ski pass may withdraw from the contract in case of closure of the lifts for at least 14 consecutive days, both in the case of total closure of all the valleys, and in the case of total closure of one of the 12 ski areas, in the latter case where the user resides or lodges in one of the relative municipalities. Within 30 days from the start of the lockdown, the user can exercise the right of withdrawal, if he has not yet used the ski pass for 40 days, by filling in an online form. In this way the refund procedure will be started and the ski pass will be immediately disabled. Alternatively, the user can decide to keep their ski pass active and can therefore continue skiing until the end of the season in the open ski areas. In this case there will be no refund.
Starting from 15 December 2020 and every two weeks, the refund threshold for Dolomiti Superski seasonal ski passes decreases, in relation to the remaining duration of the season. Example: a lockdown by 15 December 2020 inclusive provides for a refund of 85% of the ski pass price paid by the customer. The next update deadline is scheduled for December 31 and the redemption threshold will be 70% starting from the following day. So until April 1, the date on which the repayment threshold is zeroed. Refunds will be made in the form of a bank transfer.
The same right of withdrawal is also granted to holders of multi-day Dolomiti Superski ski passes, as well as in the two cases indicated above, even in the event of ascertained positivity to the SARS-CoV-2 virus and in the event of a quarantine measure. In such cases, non-usable days will be refunded, on the basis of the multi-day price list. Example: the user has purchased the 6-day Dolomiti Superski ski pass, the third day is closed. The price of the 2-day ski pass is scaled from the price of the 6-day ski pass and the difference is refunded.
Strengthening of the online shop
The leitmotiv “We care about you” is also reflected in the commitment of Dolomiti Superski to make access to the lifts and slopes as immediate and convenient as possible for its customers. For this reason, the online shop on the dolomitisuperski.com website was created from scratch, opening up online purchases to almost all types of ski passes. From about mid-November it will in fact be possible to purchase seasonal skipasses applying the rebalancing measures, multi-day skipasses, junior and senior skipasses. These can be loaded directly on the MyDolomiti Skicard, when the user already has them, or the customer can go to the cash desk with the voucher, using the digital lane for online purchases, where available. The third option is to collect the ski pass at one of the more than 50 Ticket Boxes, located in all 12 Dolomiti Superski ski areas. The expansion of the range of ski passes that can be purchased online is designed to allow the user to avoid queues at the ticket offices or at the ski pass offices.
Hotel Skipass Service
A service that has already existed for many years will be revived this year with great emphasis. "Hotel Skipass Service" allows the user to buy the ski pass he prefers online and, thanks to the collaboration of his accommodation provider, who will receive a copy of the ski pass voucher in advance and will collect it from the ski pass office or the Ticket Box, the customer will find the ski pass in the hotel room upon arrival. And also in this case the queue at the ski pass office is avoided. In addition, hoteliers and accommodation providers will also proactively advise their guests to use the online shop during the booking correspondence.
The new Skier's Map
Within the new Dolomiti Superski App and integrated into the 3D ski map on the website, the user will also find an innovative Skier's Map, which displays the frequency of skiers at the lifts. The instrument measures the filling percentage of the system in the unit of time. By following the developments of the individual systems, the user can evaluate the right moment of use of the same, thus avoiding possible gatherings.
The holiday calendar
On the basis of the historical data of the last five years, Dolomiti Superski is able to provide, in table form, forecasts of inflows to the slopes in the single days of the season. Thus the user can plan their holidays, avoiding the peak periods.
Regulation of waiting at the plants
The ways in which the waiting of skiers at the lifts will be regulated are also of institutional competence. In any case, Dolomiti Superski has sensitized all plant managers to adopt suitable measures to ensure social distancing where possible and alternatively promotes the use of masks, in the interest of users and in line with the purpose "We care about you" .
User empowerment
None of the measures envisaged will be effective, if the users themselves do not make their own contribution, strictly following the rules of conduct provided. Dolomiti Superski will be responsible for making information material available at the points of greatest contact with guests (cash desks, access to ski lifts, parking lots, etc.) as well as preparing explanatory videos that will be displayed on the circuit's mega-screens at the main valley stations. and upstream, at the points of greatest visibility.
