Dolomiti Superski. Openings, new slopes and lifts for the 2020/2021 season

The Dolomiti Superski ski carousel is ready to start the new winter season 2020/2021 with many innovations regarding slopes, systems and snowmaking systems.

As usual, the 130 cableway companies affiliated with Dolomiti Superski confirmed their long-planned investments at this particular moment in history, completing the great part of it. "It is a strong signal to the entire supply chain, the one that the Dolomiti Superski plant engineers want to give with the confirmation of the investment plan, despite the global crisis caused by Covid-19. It is the demonstration that we strongly believe in the possibility of continuing to do our job, accepting the challenge of the times. As the top of the tourism supply chain, we also feel responsible for all those who live and work in the tourism sector in our area ", explains the new president of Dolomiti Superski Andy Varallo on the occasion of the presentation of the new facilities, slopes and snow-making systems for the winter season 2020-21 by Dolomiti Superski. The quality of the service offered to customers has always been one of the most important points in the business philosophy of the consortium companies in the Dolomiti Superski and consequently, the activity during the summer months is focused on the constant modernization of the infrastructures and on the study of new proposals as far as concerns promotions and the possibility of choosing between various types of ski passes. In terms of infrastructure, the focus is mainly on ski lifts, slopes and artificial snow systems, to increase their safety, comfort, as well as the efficiency of the services offered to customers. Consequently, the aim is not to create new ski areas, but to optimize existing ones, improve their connections and take care of the details, such as the daily preparation of the slopes, aimed at guaranteeing perfect conditions for skiers and snowboarders, without neglecting those investments. which increase the sustainability of the business. Despite the global crisis from Covid-19 and the long lockdown during the spring, most of the investments already planned in advance have still been confirmed and implemented. Obsolete ski lifts have therefore been renovated or replaced, new slopes have been built in existing ski areas, optimized connections between ski areas and above all enhanced the programmed snowmaking systems, as essential to guarantee 100% skiability, even if the conditions weather are less favorable. These investments are the basis of the trust that Dolomiti Superski customers can place in the work of the 130 plant engineering companies affiliated with Federconsorzi. 9 ski lifts have been completely renovated (a chair lift in Cortina d'Ampezzo, a cable car in Plan de Corones, two chair lifts in Alta Badia, a chair lift in Canazei, a cable car in Carezza, a ski lift and a cable car in the Tre Cime Dolomiti area. , reopening of the existing “Arei 2” ski lift in the Malga Ciapela area) and numerous slopes have been remodeled. Investments in the upgrading of artificial snowmaking systems also remain constant, aiming above all at being able to use the resources used to produce technical snow, ie spring water, hydroelectric energy and compressed air, more efficiently. In total, the volume of investments for the 2020-2021 winter season is over 100 million euros, of which about a quarter for artificial snowmaking.
