In the last few days the Ischgl ski resort has become even more known for having been an outbreak of contagion for half of Europe. Local authorities are accused of failing to take action early before March 15, when the ski lifts, bars and restaurants were closed on ordinance.

Taking a step back, the issue would have started on February 29th when 15 people returning from skiing week in Ischgl were found positive in Iceland, some of whom had been in a bar, the Kizloch, where on 7 March positive a waiter.
Messages have been made public these days. It would seem that on 9 March the politician and businessman, Hörl, would have sent a text message to the owner of the Kitzloch inviting him to close the restaurant for a week given the presence of a positive employee at Covid-19. All this to avoid the early closure of the winter season in Ischgl and, consequently, the early closure of the après ski in question. That same day, March 9, another 15 Kizloch employees tested positive. Reason why the closure of the restaurant was ordered in the evening.
An explanation is now awaited by the governor of Tyrol, Günther Platter, on the exchange of messages that the opposition, represented by Markus Abwerzger (far right), has defined as a "political scandal".
Before the early closure of the winter season, in fact, the Tyrolean health authorities had continued to deny the possibility of contagion in Iscghl despite reports from the Northern European authorities.
