After today's news that Italy's decision to keep the plants closed at Christmas is now final, Austria is also reversing.

The Austrian government, which until now had always fought to allow skiing during the Christmas holidays, as opposed to Italy and Germany, thinks about it and takes a step back. During the holidays the ski lifts, as they are considered transport, will remain open but only for those who reside in the ski areas.
No ski holidays therefore for tourists, both foreigners and Austrians. The hotels and restaurants will also be closed.
The news is learned from the daily Der Standard and the official status should be announced tomorrow. The President of the Consortium of Tyrolean Municipalities and Mayor of Sölden, Ernst Schoepf, had already said yesterday that in Austria the numbers of infections do not allow for an opening.

Campitello Matese, sciare in Molise a due ore da Roma
