Until the end, France had insisted on keeping the ski lifts open and the ski resorts tried to remain active until the end of the season. Among these also Montgenèvre, the Vialattea district.
Just on Friday night a news came out on a French portal which stated that, unlike Italy, Austria and other countries, no ski resort would be closed due to the coronavirus.
“As long as there are no complications, the areas will remain open. There is no proven fact that requires the quarantine or rapid closure of a station "declared France Montagnes, the consortium which brings together more than 100 French ski areas.
The news of the restrictive measures and the closure of the ski lifts was announced by Minister Edouard Philippe yesterday evening, Saturday 14 March, during a press conference.
