Yesterday at Verbier - the Swiss mecca of off-piste skiing - the world champions of skiing and snowboarding of the Freeride World Tour 2018 were crowned with excellent results for our compatriots in the race.

Arianna Tricomi is in fact the first Italian in history to win the title of world champion in skiing. After an impeccable season - 3 first places and a second out of a total of 5 races - the Corvara athlete takes home the first place at the Xtreme Verbier and with it the world title. Double record for her, in her third year of participation in the Tour.
"I still need some time to realize that I really won the Tour! - commented the Italian - but knowing that I won here at Verbier makes me feel even better. My race strategy? Always try to have the serenity necessary to have fun during the descent, only in this way I can give the best "
This is how the Austrian veteran Lorraine Huber, who defends herself with a technical line in a steep section of the race course that is worth her the second place in both stage and season.
South Tyrolean skier Markus Eder ranks third at Verbier with a spectacular run - a 360 ° from a very high cliff - and thus closes the second season in the general classification behind an impregnable Kristofer Turdell (SWE) who already had in the safe the world title thanks to the score accumulated in previous races.
"It is the first time I have faced Bec des Rosses - commented Markus - and I must admit that it is really scary. I have studied many movies and the advice of some of the companions on the tour with more experience were fundamental. I had three different options for today's race and in the end I'm happy with how it went. "
In the men's snowboard a monstrous Sammy Luebke (USA) sets a new record by winning the first place in both the Xtreme Verbier and the Tour for the third year in a row. He has descended his line with confidence and determination down the central Bec Des Rosses channel , in speed and with multiple jumps.
The title in the women's snowboard goes instead to Manuela Mandl (AUT), who wins the points thanks to the third place conquered today.
