It was a season full of excitement and moments of pure spectacle for freeriders, with the best athletes in the world working on the most challenging mountains in the world. The freerider survived the selections made after the race in Austria are very few - 12 men and 6 women in skiing, 6 men and 4 women in snowboarding - and are ready to give all out at Xtreme Verbier, on stage from Saturday, April 1 in the Swiss resort.

The world title for Sammy Luebke (USA) snowboard if it is already assured in Alaska, anchored firmly to the top classification from the first race and world champion for the second consecutive year.
In the women's ski our Arianna Tricomi (ITA) won important points in the last race in Alaska, it is second in the standings and will play the title with Lorraine Huber's (AUT) and Eva Walkner (AUT), first and third respectively in Ranking.
In the men's ski games are more open than ever with an unprecedented trio that sees the French Loïc Collomb-Patton along with Léo Slemett and Kirstoffer Turdell (SWE), all tied on points atop the leaderboard ready to do hard time.
For the women's snowboard Haerty Marion (FRA) currently sits atop the standings and will contend the title with aggressive Shannan Yates (USA) and the Swiss Anne-Flore Marxer.
It is the tenth consecutive year that the freeride world champions challenge each other on the steep slopes of the north of the Bec des Rosses face: descent 600m which according to the athletes themselves is the most technical and intimidating the entire tour.

Benjamin Karl fa marcia indietro: il campione olimpico del PGS torna allo snowboard verso il Mondiale di casa
Dopo aver annunciato lo scorso marzo il ritiro dall'attività, fresco del leggendario bis olimpico, il 40enne fuoriclasse austriaco aveva avviato un progetto legato alla bicicletta, sua enorme passione, con l'obiettivo dei Giochi del 2030 nel ciclocross (che non è stato inserito nel programma per la rassegna sulle Alpi francesi). Sono cambiate alcune cose e ho capito di essere semplicemente uno snowboarder che si diverte tantissimo sui pedali. Punterà soprattutto ai campionati del mondo di Montafon che a marzo chiuderanno la stagione.
