There are many events that Friuli Venezia Giuia will host during the season.

Starting from Saturday 25 January, thanks to the snowfall and low temperatures, all the slopes of the Friuli Venezia Giulia ski areas will be open. Only in Sappada at the moment two ski lifts will remain inactive, the Miravalle and Hochbolt chairlifts. In preparation for EYOF, the European Youth Olympic Festival that the region will host in 2023, the calendar of sporting events for the 2019/2020 winter season presents many events open to all. This week the Snowboard World Cup will be held in Piancavallo which will see the great international champions compete. The Fis Continental Cross-Country will take place at the beginning of February, also in Piancavallo, while the Biberon Trophy will be held in Forni di Sopra, the ideal destination for family skiing. The February events will conclude with the Fis Alpine Skiing European Cup in Sella Nevea, a destination for more expert skiers. In March and April three important sporting events dedicated to young people are scheduled: in early March Tarvisio will host the U16 Italian Nordic Ski Championships while at the end of March the Zoncolan will be the scene of the Italian Children Championships and, finally, in early April the Giovanissimi Grand Prix will take place again in Tarvisio. To close the calendar of the 2019-2020 season will be the ski instructors who will participate in the Italian Ski Instructors Championship. APPOINTMENTS FROM 23 TO 28 JANUARY SAPPADA - AVOLTRI OVENS Sappada: January 25 at 2.00 pm naturalistic snowshoeing "sappada nel rosa" and January 26 at 9.30 am naturalistic snowshoeing with guide Forni Avoltri: January 23 8.30 am naturalistic snowshoe hike to the Tuglia mountain hut with the mountain guide ZONCOLAN Ovaro: on Monday 27 at 08:30 a 5-hour snowshoe hike with mountain guide on Monte Talm is scheduled Ravascletto: Sunday 26 at 9.00 snowshoeing with alpine guide of about 4 hours at Malga Marmoreana PIANCAVALLO Piancavallo: on Sunday 26 January at 6 a suggestive excursion is scheduled to see the sunrise from Col Ceschet while at 10 and 14.30 the excursion "Snow and sun with snowshoes" with meeting at the Piancavallo snow park in the Roncjade area. Saturday 25 January at 10-14.30-18.30 excursion "Neve Fuori Porta" with meeting at the snow park in the Roncjade area. SAURIS - OVENS ABOVE Sauris: Friday 24 at 19.00 snowshoeing "Sauris under the stars" guided excursion in the magical atmosphere of the woods in the moonlight. Saturday 25 3.00 pm snowshoeing "Between day and night" simple excursion suitable for everyone in the magical atmosphere of the woods in the moonlight. Forni di Sopra: Saturday 25 at 8.00 am “With skis uphill”: climb to the Giaf refuge and to the Forcella Scodavacca with ski mountaineering skis, to immerse yourself in the Dolomite environment and admire it from new and unexpected views. Saturday 25 20.30 "On the snow to observe the stars" and Sunday 9.30 "Winter Sundays" snowshoeing with guides in the muffled woods wrapped in silence, discovering the wonderful snowy landscapes of the Dolomites. TARVISIO and VALBRUNA Valbruna: Thursday 23 at 17.00 appointment in Valbruna for a walk of about 2 hours suitable for everyone (front light and snowshoes provided by the organization for free). Tarvisio: Thursday 23 and Tuesday 28 January at 16.00 from the Italian Ski School in via Priesnig in Tarvisio starts "Snowshoeing at dusk" walk with ski instructor only for children (8-15 years) lasting about 2 hours (snowshoes provided by organization for free). Ugovizza: Sunday 26 January ski touring excursion with guide, departure at 8.00 am in front of the cheese shop. Val Bartolo: Friday 24 at 5.30 pm Snow fat bike, bike excursion with snow tires accompanied by Ami bike instructor. Meeting in Val Bartolo.
