Garmin and Ortovox together for mountain safety

For the 2019/2020 winter season the collaboration between Garmin and Ortovox is born, the two companies that operate in the outdoor sector and that have security as their common goal.

Garmin, an American company founded in 1989, develops devices with integrated satellite technology. The company initially entered the world of nautical and aeronautical navigation to then extend, over the years, the use of GPS receivers to the fitness and outdoor markets, able to analyze and monitor sports performance in the first and to guarantee orientation, location and security in the second. Ortovox, founded in 1980, is instead dedicated to the avalanche safety sector and has contributed to the development of products for emergencies in winter mountains. The Garmin inReach satellite communication technology is a fundamental safety tool for anyone who lives the outdoor world. The inReach product line and the new GPSMPA66i (with integrated satellite communication technology) allows you to request help in case of need wherever you are, especially where there is no telephone coverage, relying on the Iridium network, the most powerful network of satellites for communication. During the season, during the Safety Nights (short and informative evening events) and the Safety Events promoted by ORTOVOX, the collaboration with GARMIN will be concretely realized which will present its products and in particular the latest safety device, the GPSMAP 66i.
