When we talk about ski helmets, one goal, for over 30 years, has been the basis of the whole philosophy of the Giro brand: to guarantee all mountain lovers the maximum technology applied to the safety of their products, without neglecting style and the design.

It is this motivation that has led the Californian company to be over time one of the most avant-garde brands in the technical development of ski helmets and goggles, creating and patenting increasingly innovative products capable of guaranteeing optimal performance and a very high degree of safety. One of the latest technologies adopted by Giro in its line of helmets is the MIPS SPHERICAL, a system developed by Giro to reduce the energy transmitted to the head and neck during multi-directional impacts. An upgrade of the already functional and performing MIPS (Multi Impact Protection System) now adopted in the entirety of the Giro line. If MIPS has already been and is a step ahead of all the classic helmet protection systems currently on the market, MIPS SPHERICAL is a real revolution! There are three components of the MIPS system: the foam liner, the low friction liner and the polymer elastics that connect the two liners. During a multi-directional impact, the elastics allow the two cups to rotate independently of each other (the external one rotates in the direction of the impact, the internal one rotates in the opposite direction), in order to drastically reduce the rotational forces and avoid problems and bumps to the neck and head. In the Mips Spherical, on the other hand, we no longer find a thin additional shell between the helmet and the head as for the standard MIPS, but it is the shell itself that performs the function of the MIPS. This is possible because helmets with Spherical MIPS are equipped with two shells, one superimposed on the other as in a sort of ball joint, connected to each other by elastic anchors. Not just a technological innovation. This allows a further step forward on several levels and in several fields but what matters is that a helmet with MIPS SPHERICAL system therefore protects against a type of impact in which helmets with MIPS system are slightly less performing and all the others absolutely not protective. . AVANCE SPHPERICAL The Avance ™ Spherical is probably the most advanced helmet in Giro history. Mips Spherical technology that redirects the energy of the impact with two separate layers of EP-Premium foam to protect against a very wide range of types of impacts. Other premium details of the Giro Avance Spherical include the TeXtreme® carbon shell, EP-Premium Line, and X-Static® antimicrobial padding. The carbon shell boasts a beautifully designed shape, named Hammerhead Design, developed in Giro's Californian laboratories with material strategically added to the areas where slalom door impacts commonly occur.
