The International Olympic Committee keeps alive the channel of communication with the Italian government regarding the reform of the CONI and of the sports organization.

The letter arrived from Lausanne and published yesterday with the heavy observations of the IOC on the risks of seeing the principles of sports autonomy violated from politics with the reform bill came almost simultaneously with the Senate vote on Tuesday afternoon that approved the bill definitively from the Senate this afternoon with 154 yes, 54 no and 52 abstentions.
In the evening, the majority sources assured that the implementing decrees that will be issued next year would incorporate the IOC's remarks that today, in a new letter to CONI, takes note of the situation and maintains an open door.
According to ANSA, the International Olympic Committee writes "unfortunately, we note that the few specific problems we highlighted yesterday in our self-explanatory letter could not be taken into consideration at this stage. However, we reiterate our proposal to organize a meeting joint with the CONI and government authorities in September in Lausanne to carefully review the situation and find a mutually acceptable solution to ensure that the new legislative framework is fully compatible with the basic principles and rules of the Olympic Charter, as mentioned in our previous letter "Thank you for your cooperation and remain available to help resolve this situation without problems".
An opening that the Italian government cannot pass up if it wants to avoid a very serious crisis that could have strong repercussions on the future of Italian sport.
