The IOC expresses its favor to the news that the three cities have joined forces; "this shows the strength of the new application process" is the reading that comes from Lausanne. The statement continues with a summary of the next steps: "The IOC will continue to work with CONI and the three cities to provide expertise and contribute to the development of plans in line with the reforms of the 2020 Olympic Agenda and the new rules that have the application process 2026 to ensure that the projects meet the long-term needs of the cities, regions and host countries, and we hope to achieve the best possible result from these discussions. On the occasion of the IOC session in Buenos Aires, the IOC will select the projects that will be invited to the Phase of Candidacy "
