Of the four candidates, Sapporo is the favorite and will be the third city to receive the IOC after Salt Lake City and Vancouver to understand how feasible the proposal is.

The IOC is wrapping up its visit to Vancouver, Canada, with three members to evaluate the proposed venues. He had traveled to Salt Lake City at the end of April and will now conclude the North American tour today.
Subsequently, he will travel to Japan to continue his evaluation of the candidates to which Barcelona-Pyrenees must be added, which however has some technical problems with the Aragon region. As a result, the IOC visit was postponed even though Spain abandoned the idea of nominating Madrid in the summer of 2036 to promote all efforts in the Catalan candidacy. As for the Japanese city, it could get the green light with the other candidates despite the cost cutting both for the pandemic and for the effort used for the Tokyo 2020 summer Olympics.
Salt Lake City remains open to a more certain candidacy towards 2034 due to the summer session in Los Angeles 2028, while Vancouver presents itself with a new indigenous management and Barcelona has destiny in its hands in the referendum on July 24th.
The new method of study of the IOC allows continuous dialogue with the candidates while respecting the confidentiality of the members employed for the control of the offices, however, allowing the candidates to withdraw at any time.
Based on what the IOC will decide, the final rush for the candidacy should take place in Mumbai in 2023 where there will be the new meeting of the Olympic committee and from which the winner for the 2030 Winter Olympics should come out.

Benjamin Karl fa marcia indietro: il campione olimpico del PGS torna allo snowboard verso il Mondiale di casa
Dopo aver annunciato lo scorso marzo il ritiro dall'attività, fresco del leggendario bis olimpico, il 40enne fuoriclasse austriaco aveva avviato un progetto legato alla bicicletta, sua enorme passione, con l'obiettivo dei Giochi del 2030 nel ciclocross (che non è stato inserito nel programma per la rassegna sulle Alpi francesi). Sono cambiate alcune cose e ho capito di essere semplicemente uno snowboarder che si diverte tantissimo sui pedali. Punterà soprattutto ai campionati del mondo di Montafon che a marzo chiuderanno la stagione.
