While the IOC has made it known that it has not been consulted in the decision to award the 2029 Asian Winter Games to Saudi Arabia, it is working on a mega ski resort with an investment of over 500 billion dollars.

The project for a futuristic mega ski resort, commissioned by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will be carried out in Trojena, on the Red Sea, with an “out of market” investment of 500 billion dollars. The first plants should already be completed in 2026.
The IOC has made it known that it has not been consulted in the decision to assign the 2029 edition of the Asian Winter Games to the Saudi Arabian desert. From the top of Lausanne it would also be interesting to know how it is allowed, in times of war and above all the energy crisis, that a continental competition can far exceed the budget of all the editions of the history of the Olympic Games, summer and winter combined, including those which have already been assigned but not yet played.
The Milan Cortina 2026 budget? It provides for appropriations of 1.6 billion, destined in any case to rise.
