As reported by the ANSA agency, Giancarlo Giorgetti, in commission instruction for the Senate spoke on the theme of the Winter Olympics, explains that the candidacy can not go on: "The proposal died here". And he argues: "I believe that something as important as the Olympic bid must provide a spirit of sharing that I have not traced between the three cities" (Milan, Turin and Cortina). "This is why the government does not believe that a nomination as formulated could have further course.This type of proposal has no government support, it is dead".
"I obviously judge this situation negatively - continued the undersecretary - for a long time, until yesterday, the proposal of the shared candidacy has been discussed.We have studied various aspects, looking for a minimum common denominator among the three proposing cities. objective was twofold: to have a single event management at national level in the Board of Directors, which managed money, and to have an equal participation among the three candidates without any prevailing - on this - said Giorgetti -, it was triggered a debate that did not lead to a solution ".
