The great cold in Zhangjiakou, with temperatures further dropping for Saturday, forced the IBU and the organizing committee to put their hand to the calendar of online biathlon starts, the last races of Beijing 2022, which will both be held on Friday morning.

Initially the men's Mass start was scheduled for Friday 18 February, the women's one the following day. However, the extreme climatic conditions, given a further worsening for Saturday, led to an anticipated departure in the women's line. On Friday, in the Italian morning, both final races of Beijing 2022 will be staged: at 08:00 the girls will take to the track, at 10:00 the men.
Three blues in the race: Dorothea Wierer will go hunting for another medal, Lukas Hofer and Dominik Windisch will try among the men, qualified thanks to the points obtained between Individual, Sprint and Pursuit. Lisa Vittozzi and Thomas Bormolini did not take the pass.
