100 days after the opening of the XXIV edition of the Olympic Winter Games, which will take place in Beijing from 4 February 2022, the Organizing Committee has unveiled the design of the medals that will be awarded in the review in China.
The Beijing 2022 medals - called "Tong Xin" ("together as one") - are made up of five concentric rings and are inspired by ancient Chinese jade pendants, with the five rings also representing the Olympic spirit that brings people together and the splendor of the Olympic Games shared around the world.
In line with the principles of the Organizing Committee, the shape of the gold, silver and bronze medals is simple and classic and recalls the inlaid medals of the Summer Games in 2008, as well as showing Beijing as the first "Dual Olympic City ”to have hosted both the Summer and Winter Games. At the center of the medals stand out the five Olympic circles and the inscription “XXIV Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022”, surrounded by patterns of ice, snow and clouds.
On the back, however, the logo of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games is placed in the center, with the name of the Games engraved in Chinese, while, on the outer ring, there is an indication of the event.
