Yesterday, Tuesday 22 September, the Board of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano approved the cross-border connection between the Tre Cime Dolomiti area, in Alta Pusteria, and the Sillian Hochpustertal station, in Austria, with the conditions imposed on the Environmental Committee.

The project involves the construction of a ski lift, "Tre Cime II", and a run that will bear the same name as the cable car. More precisely, the plant will start from Stiergarten (2100 meters high) and will reach Hochgruben (2536 meters high). The “Tre Cime E” cable car will be equipped with 10-seater vehicles that can carry 2400 people, while the track will be just over 2 km long for an area of 8.7 hectares. I. The investment amounts to 10.85 million euros.
What are the conditions imposed by the Environmental Committee for the cross-border connection? The new ski slope and the new facility can only be built after the preparation of the project for the connection of the ski lifts in Austria. In addition, a deposit of 200,000 euros is provided for environmental compensation measures such as the reforestation of the hydrogeological context and the enhancement of the black grouse habitat.
