It's called Ski School Bormio, the new ski school in the Valtellinese area born from the union of the two schools in the area, the Bormio County Ski School and the International Ski School and after just three months from the start of the season Bormio counts the advantages of have a strong school that represents the whole area.

The idea was born in the summer of 2019 on the proposal of the directors of both schools, Roberto Antonioli and Daniele Martinelli, according to which a collaboration would have led to important results.
The great strength of having a ski school representing the whole country was immediately noticed with the official invitation from local authorities such as the Mayor of Bormio, Roberto Volpato, and the Società Impianti Bormio, in the figure of Valeriano Giacomelli, to attend the Modena Skipass Fair.
The ski school participated and organized several events starting with "Evening 4 kids" during the Immaculate Conception weekend. The participants competed on various obstacle courses with wooden skis, "ski-bikes" and "ski tandems", winning a beautiful "home made" medal by the ski instructors and many other gadgets.
As usual, the "torchlight procession at the end of the year" took place on 31 December, a colorful snake in the final stretch of the Stelvio slope. Many were the participating guests assisted by the ski instructors of all the schools including the many professionals of the Bormio Ski School.
On Saturday 10 January the Ski School Bormio organized a night bobsleigh race in pairs. Some ski instructors with historical clothing and equipment went down the path exhibiting the various skiing techniques of the past. There was no lack of dancing, music and local tastings.
On Saturday 19 January 2020 the ski school organized a torchlight procession with 250 participants associated with the Grosio Ski Club from the province of Sondrio, starting from the Municipality of Tirano up to that of Valdisotto.
But the activities don't end there. From 9 to 13 March will be the white week dedicated to children. Ski School Bormio is on the front line to organize skiing and non-ski activities for the whole day: (excursion in the Stelvio National Park, theoretical freeride lessons with harp, shovel and probe, ski-bike competition, lessons on local flora and fauna etc. .).
During the season, the Bormio Ski School will also participate in the annual safety event, in collaboration with the local public safety authorities.
The Ski School Bormio, together with the Società Impianti Bormio, will organize the Giovanissimi Grand Prix - Regional Phase, scheduled for March 14 and 15, 2020. The young promises of Italian skiing will compete in the Alpine races in the giant slalom specialty on the Stella Alpina and Canalino slope Sertorelli.
A mutual collaboration between Ski School Bormio and Società Impianti Bormio has also allowed the creation of a "mini" school camp in the locality of Bormio 2000 of considerable importance to allow the very small pupils to take their first steps on the snow. All this with the contribution of the Aberdeen Standard Investments Company which set up the pitch with personalized mats and protections.
In anticipation of the future "2026 Olympics", the Bormio Ski School will certainly contribute personally to the growth of the area and the prestige that Bormio deserves.
