The third phase of modernization of the lifts of the Sette Comuni Plateau has begun.

Six years ago, the municipalities of Asiago, Gallio and Roana entered into a programmatic agreement by launching a multi-year funding request in this regard: the first phase was dedicated to the Melette di Gallio, the second to the Kaberlaba of Asiago and now, after the executive start of the first two, the third phase dedicated to the fraction of Mezzaselva di Roana where, on Monte Verena, a six-seater chairlift will be built which will replace the two central two-seater chairlifts that could already be used in the winter station 2019-2020.
"The municipality of Roana has already been allocated € 6.5 million for modernization and completion of the Monte Verena ski areas - the municipal councilor Luigi Martello explains to ilgiornaledivicenza.it, who followed the bureaucratic procedure -. A work considered to be of fundamental importance for the relaunch and development of tourism, economic and social in our area and considered strategic for the entire area of ​​the Province of Vicenza. To kick off the project, however, an agreement was needed with the current manager that provides for the free transfer to the Municipality of the two current chairlifts as well as the departure and arrival stations. In addition, the general project that the company had already completed, already in possession of the necessary authorizations, was donated. Now we have to run to respect the very strict time schedule that we have set ourselves: with a technical table of three of our area managers, who are working non-stop, we are preparing the completion of the project that we want to deposit in the Province at the end of the month for its final approval. The desire would be to be able to call the tender by the end of the year and start work in late spring 2019. Difficult but not unattainable ".
"The importance of building the new chairlift in a short time is not only linked to the needs of the ski resort but also to succeed as a territory to present two renewed ski resorts, Melette and Verena, in order to encourage as many skiers as possible to return to the plateau and also attract new customers thanks to the plurality of the ski offer - says Lorena Frigo, former World Cup winner and co-owner of the management company Verena 2000 srl - in fact, winter is the most suffering season in these years, but these announced new things are generating a lot of interest, then it will be up to the snow to do its part, together with the Municipality we will do our best ".
