The Veneto Regional Council approved the development of the link between the ski areas of "Pocol-Tofana" and "5 Towers" in a new area called "Son of Prade - Socrepes - Bai de Dones".

"At the request of the municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo and in compliance with the Regional Snow Plan, which is the instrument of planning the plant system and regional ropeway ski area - said the 'Councillor for Tourism of the Veneto Region, Federico Caner - we started free to the realization of this link between two important and valuable skiable areas. It is an intervention aimed at implementing Ski Area Cinque Torri which 'training area and qualifications of the athletes during the Alpine World Ski Championships 2021', developed in a manner consistent with the morphological and environmental characteristics of the area, by adopting solutions that keep to a minimum the use of the land ".
The link "Pocol-5 Towers", as a strategic project for the World Cup 2021 in Cortina, is, among other things, assignee of loans of the Development Fund and Cohesion (FSC) for a total of 16 million 380 thousand euro.
"The opening of the procedure - said the commissioner Caner - testifies as has already begun the difficult work of organizing the largest sporting and tourism event of 2021. And it is confirmation of how the world also represent an opportunity to strengthen the 'offer of dolomitic area from the structural point of view and infrastructure ".
Foundation for Cortina2021 this is a very significant first intervention: "We are very satisfied with the resolution of the Veneto Region, which completes the authorization process started by the City relative to Pocol-5 Torri connection. It is a strategic project useful both to the entire ski area, both in view of the 2021 World Championships in Cortina. This link is a first draft of the redevelopment of the area and the tourist offer, and is part of the legacy of infrastructural activities Cortina2021 Foundation has as its objective. "
