Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 January, O.P.E.S. (Organization for Sport Education) organizes, for the ninth consecutive time, the "Under Ice 2023" internship under the frozen surface of Lake Lavarone (TN).

A unique, extraordinary experience that offers emotions and strong adrenaline rushes. At the OPES event, the Sports Promotion Body which believes in the positive values of sport such as social inclusion and which favors all those occasions in which able-bodied and disabled athletes can carry out a specific discipline or activity together. The event is recognized by Coni.
The various diving professionals or enthusiasts who want to dive under the frozen mirror of Lake Lavarone for the first time on Sunday 29 January will have to participate in the preparation course which will take place on Saturday 28 January at 3.00 pm at the the Conference Hall of the Municipality of Lavarone. The organizers, headed by Vincenzo Polimeni, National Manager of the Underwater Sector of OPES, have also scheduled dives on Saturday. The "Under Ice" experience, in this case, must be scheduled and is reserved for expert divers who have already participated in a workshop and theoretical and practical training to dive under a frozen lake.
This appointment has already reached its eighth edition and is a fundamental step for those with a passion for diving. The importance of this type of diving is given by the possibility of getting to know one's own psychophysical qualities better and it is highly formative for a diving career.
"We are happy to be able to host this incredible event on Lake Lavarone again, giving life to a very exciting event both for those who participate and for those who come to watch the dives" says Daniela Vecchiato, Director of Apt Alpe Cimbra, "and also to be able to count it among the 4all events that our destination hosts. Promoting inclusion through events of this type is essential, precisely to demonstrate that any sport is for everyone."
Furthermore, so that Under Ice can be archived as an evocative and exciting event to be experienced in total safety, there will be DAN Research (an organization that conducts medical-scientific research on diving safety), the Underwater Carabinieri Unit and the Police Scuba Divers Unit of State, IRC Community which in a previous edition donated a defibrillator to the community of Lavarone.
Diving is fascinating but the place is not to be missed, it is truly enchanting, Lake Lavarone is surrounded by completely snow-capped mountains; for those who are not divers there are various attractions, typical towns, very well equipped and innovative ski pools, historical museums.
