Last Tuesday, Devil Peak and Sacif presented the project for the relaunch of Foppolo at the Parco delle Orobie and Comunità Montana Valle Brembana. An investment of less than 10,000 euros is expected, which I will allow will see an area equipped with 21 slopes with more than 50 combinations. The works are expected to start in 2023 and finish in 2026.

What does the project consist of? It starts from the new Montebello facility by extending the current route, while the IV Baita will be shortened which will become III Baita. This last intervention will allow for a reduction in the time needed to access the area. There would remain 2 wide and long slopes entirely for beginners with arrival on the square. The slopes will be improved by leveling the area III Baita and fixing the last 200 meters.
The reopening of all the slopes in the "Giretta" area is also planned to increase the offer in Val Carisole: 2 new slopes and refurbishment of the blue Pianoni slope. In addition, a new lift to increase the lift capacity. There is also the hypothesis of a new basin at an altitude of 1900 meters (snow cover, water regulation, summer attraction).
On the Valgussera side, which today represents a serious problem for the return of beginners to Foppolo, it is planned to build a blue run from top to bottom, which allows you to bypass the Cappelletta run. and an alternative to the Vago. In addition to solving the problem for beginners, the number of runs is multiplied to take full advantage of the Valgussera slope and lift: 3 black runs, 1 red run and 1 blue run from top to bottom. So 8 different combinations and possible descents.
The project also states the hypothesis of a new system to connect the lower town and create a new access point from the municipal parking lot and the opening of the "del Bosco" slope, always with excellent snow.
The reopening of Toro on the current line is also expected, creating the maximum number of slopes and alternatives for an increase in the offer to the average / expert skier: in the current hypothesis there will be 7 alternative descents.
Finally, the project also dedicates space to skialp and hiking: dedicated routes with safe and regulated "crossing" points, variety of duration and difficulty, connection with all the refuges and panoramic points.
