Il promontorio anticiclonico di matrice africana responsabile dell'ennesima ondata di caldo anomalo, tende a ritirarsi verso sud, favorendo tra lunedi e martedi l'ingresso progressivo di correnti occidentali di origine atlantica di aria un po' meno calda e un po' piu instabile, con l'approfondimento di una saccatura sulla Francia; tale saccatura transitera sul Nord Italia tra mercoledi e giovedi, con un episodio di tempo spiccatamente instabile e un sensibile calo termico che riportera le temperature prossime alla norma. L'evoluzione della saccatura e ad oggi incerta, con una possibile persistenza sul Mediterraneo anche venerdi e conseguenti condizioni di moderata instabilita.
