It will be the Valdengo - Plan Montecampione the stage more Long Tour of Italy that will cross the mountains of Lombardy on 25 May. Ben 217 km to get up on top of 1744 meters above sea level where June 4, 1998 Marco Pantani won the last 2 km against Tonkov.

After the riders have left Valdengo, you percorrerano the first 50 km still in Piedmont, then move in and Brianza in Valcavallina the narrow corridor that connects the plains of the Po Valcamonica. One comes up to here and it will be all flat across the plains for another 20 km before starting the climb to Plan Montecampione, one of the most tough in this edition of the Tour of Italy. A long climb that includes the first 10 km with an average gradient of 8%.
Once in Alpiaz, the finish of the stage in 1982, when Bernard Hinault tore the pink jersey Silvano Contini, there will be another 8 km to go in the top 3 km further then go quiet for the last 5 with an average gradient of 8, 5% (which is seen as favorites Quintana, Uran, Rodriguez and Scarponi) and get to the top of the Plan Montacampione where the great Marco Pantani won the pink jersey.
