For the winter of 2022/2023 Monterosa ski, the area that gathers 3 valleys (Champoluc-Frachey, Gressoney-La-Trinité and Alagna), has decided not to increase the price of the ski pass and to maintain the same cost as in the past season.

From the winter season 2019/2020 to the winter season 2021/2022, the daily ski pass for the 3 valleys, the price of the daily ski pass in the high season had gone from 48 euros to 60 euros. Next winter, again in the high season, the cost will remain at 60 euros.
No increase in the daily and seasonal rates, therefore, also to favor a public that is certainly already harassed by the increases due to the economic crisis that our country is going through.
"The positive data of the summer, together with the hoped-for return of foreigners, no longer limited by the containment regulations of the pandemic of the past season, give us hope for a winter of revival. This is why we want to meet our users, facilitating them with the return of the dynamic price through, essentially, the formula of the first purchase and the less you pay - confirms Daniel Grosjacques, administrative director of Monterosa SPA.
In detail, the daily ski pass for the 3 valleys (Champoluc-Frachey, Gressoney-La-Trinité and Alagna) will range from a minimum of 38 euros to a maximum of 60 euros. If you choose the freeride formula at the time of purchase, which also includes the ascent to the Punta Indren glacier, the increase in the ski pass is 2 euros (40 euros minimum and 62 euros maximum). If, on the other hand, you want to buy the single climb to Punta Indren, the daily supplement will be 8 euros.
The 2022/2023 season will start on December 2nd and run until April 16th. Snow permitting, the opening will be brought forward to the last two weekends of November. Those who choose the seasonal ski pass will be guaranteed the possibility of skiing during all opening dates. The season ticket is offered at 940 euros (980 in the freeride formula).

The dynamic price has been summarized with the formula of the first purchase and less pay but in reality it is the result of a precise study carried out in collaboration with the University of Valle d'Aosta, with which the data of the last three seasons were analyzed to obtain a precise photograph of the customers of the district.
Therefore, the seasonality (3 in total: low, medium and high) and the maximum and minimum prices for each of them were identified. The next step involved the definition of an algorithm to achieve the dynamism of prices which took into account the following variables:
- days in advance of the purchase
- number of places still available in the area;
- elasticity of demand;
The objectives are clear and, in the past winter, also fully achieved: contain the demand in peak periods, so as to limit overcrowding, allowing skiers and non-skiers to fully enjoy the beauty of the place, expand demand in average periods. -low season and increase the company's profits.
In the satellite stations of Monterosa Ski, Alpe di Mera, Antagnod, Brusson, Champorcher and Gressoney-Saint-Jean, instead, we opted for two fixed price ranges, divided between weekdays and holidays:
The daily ticket for Antagnod, Brusson and Gressoney-Saint-Jean will vary from a minimum of 25 euros for weekdays to a maximum of 31 euros for holidays. For Champorcher from 26 euros (weekdays) to 33 euros (holidays). For Alpe di Mera from 28 euros (weekdays) to a maximum of 38 euros (holidays), if purchased online. Even in the case of the smaller resorts in the area, the prices of seasonal workers have not increased: Antagnod, Brusson and Gressoney-Saint Jean at 449 euros - Champorcher 559 euros - Alpe di Mera 600 euros.
"The fact that ski pass rates have also become dynamic is nothing more than confirmation of adapting to a method that favors the containment of overtourism in the high season, leading to a more homogeneous seasonal adjustment", confirms Grosjacques.
Dynamic pricing has also been applied to tour operators, for which a B2B shop has been opened, where bookings and orders can be made, on SKP (SKP - Skiperformance is, from winter 2021/22, the sales platform to which support the ski resorts of the Aosta Valley).
Not just dynamic pricing for the next winter season. But also important improvements, related to both safety and maintenance, aimed at guaranteeing the maintenance of the cableway systems and the strengthening of the programmed snowmaking system, which will allow to open the largest number of lifts and slopes from the beginning of the season. and to ensure snow for its entire duration. In 2022 investments for extraordinary activities amounted to a total of 6,630,000 euros of which: 4,388,000 euros for ski lifts; € 1,167,000 for snow and € 1,075,000 for the arrangement of the slopes and buildings.
It is therefore interesting to read the annual operating hours of the plants in comparison with those of maintenance of the same. For 1,600 hours of operation per year of the summer + winter systems, 1,200 hours of maintenance per year were used: summarily, therefore, the operating hours correspond to the hours of ordinary maintenance. If we then add the annual incidence of longer-term extraordinary maintenance, the maintenance hours exceed those of operation.
