Guided excursions to the Stelvio with the University of the Mountain and the Pirovano ski

The Stelvio National Park in summer becomes a wonderful destination for hiking and trekking enthusiasts. Several naturalistic itineraries leave from the Stelvio Pass and the peaks of Switzerland branch off towards the glaciers of the Ortles-Cevedale group.

In these places it is possible to relive the period of the Great War, fought right in these mountains, thanks to the presence of educational and scientific paths. If you are not experienced hikers and want to know this land, you can rely on the Mountain Guides of Pirovano, the Mountain University that, in addition to ski courses, also offers guided tours to discover the flora, fauna, alpine forests, of deer, marmots, and lakes that characterize the Stelvio National Park. In particular, the Pirovano University offers "green" holidays with 5-day packages that include 4 excursions for the price of 200 euros and full-board hotels (packed lunch) at a price ranging from 55 to 70 euros per person per day. depending on the chosen accommodation. Program: 1 day Meeting at the Stelvio Pass at the Pirovano Hotel at 4.00 pm Meeting with the Guide and knowledge of the participants. Presentation of the trekking. 2nd day Monte Scorluzzo - Filon del Mott The day will begin with a visit to the "Carlo Donegani" Great War Museum, located at the Stelvio Pass. From the Stelvio Pass (2757 m) you will walk towards the Monte Scorluzzo (m 3094) and then you will cross the Filon del Mot (m 2899) and then get to the III Cantoniera (1900 m). From here the hotel shuttle service bus will bring the participants back to the Stelvio Pass. The route, of notable historical-naturalistic interest, from the top of the Scorluzzo offers a clarifying overview on the positions of the various armies. The visit of the trenches, forts and mule tracks of the so-called "White War" will revive the clashes and the lives of soldiers, and it will be exciting to see the majesty of the work done despite the very few vehicles of the time. 3rd day Piz Umbrail - Lake Rims - St. Mary Monastery From the hotel with the buses you will move to the IV cantoniera from where the second excursion will start. The "Lai da Rims" is one of the most beautiful altitude lakes in the Alps, surrounded by the unspoiled nature of the Val Mora. This is a destination particularly appreciated by nature lovers. The proposed route connects the Passo dell'Umbrail at 2500 m above sea level to the Piz Umbrail at 3033 m, then descends towards the lakeside jewel of the "Lai da Rims" before ending with a downhill walk to Santa Maria from where with the minibus you will return to the Hotel. 4th day Dreifernerweg - Borletti refuge - Trafoi From the Hotel Franzenshohe will begin the excursion of the day that, with a "salt and down", will lead to the crossing of the moraines of the 4 glaciers: Vedretta di Madaccio, Vedretta di Trafoi called dell'Elefante, Vedretta di Circo and the Vedretta bassa 'Ortler. When you reach the Rifugio Borletti, you will then descend to Tre Fontane di Trafoi, where you will return to the hotel by bus. 5th day Excursion on the Stelvio Glacier Accompanied by an Alpine Guide you will experience the experience of crossing a glacier on foot, in rope and with the appropriate equipment (ice ax, crampons and harness).
