Twelve environmental associations have appealed to the Regional Administrative Court against the resolution of the Province of Bolzano which has started the construction of a cableway that would connect the area of ​​the station upstream of the Monte Orso chairlift with Punta del Coston.

In addition to the ski lift there would also be a ski slope in Solda inside the Stelvio National Park. With these interventions the "Ortler-Ronda" ski carousel should be completed
In particular, environmentalists defend the protection of 6 different habitats, of 8 species of fauna, listed in the Red List of Alto Adige of endangered species and areas of landscape and naturalistic importance where the white partridge is reproduced and the presence of the eagle is recorded real and the bearded vulture.
Furthermore, the following is contested: the violation of Legislative Decree 14/2016, which requires the configuration and unitary governance of the Stelvio National Park; the violation of the Alpine Convention and of the Implementing Protocols on the Protection of Nature and the Protection of the Landscape and on Tourism; the violation of the Community directive on Strategic Environmental Assessment (Vas); the violation of the "precautionary principle" explicitly envisaged by the Environmental Code; the violation of the right to participate in the environmental proceedings promoted by the Public Administration established by the Aarhus Convention, transposed into our legal system, since the publication of the instructing documents and opinions took place in German only.
Among the environmental associations opposed to the completion of the "Ortler-Ronda" ski carousel appear CAI Italian Alpine Club, South Tyrolean Protection Federation, Italy Nostra, Legambiente, LIPU, Mountain Wilderness, Italian Touring Club and WWF.
