"Dear customers and ski enthusiasts, this is the second and I hope also the last time that we are forced to have to communicate another sad news and this after 51 years of activity in the ski area. The Saslong spa of Selva di Val Gardena have decided , given the total uncertainty on the part of politics to take a clear concrete, logical, decisive and above all human decision, not opening for the 2020/2021 season.
We do not need the government to tell us that we must close or open we are people with common sense and character to understand what we must do and when we must do it.
As early as March, our company had already pointed out that given the gravity of this pandemic, the summer and even the winter season were at risk. For the summer season, given the short-sightedness of our policy, we have not suffered a closure but now, given the number of deaths and the pressure on hospitals, if reason and common sense prevail, we should accept the renunciation of the opening of the plants.
We first directly with the president of the association of cableway operators Val Gardena Alpe di Siusi and later in the last meeting of 27 November 2020 we had expressed serious doubts about the possible start of this season and heavy criticism on the way of interpreting the situation and on children's measures and not very decisive put in place. We pointed out that the most important aspect had not been talked about, which was to risk burdening the hospitals of Bolzano and Bressanone, but we were not heard. Furthermore, when we were coming to enunciate our idea to guarantee all consortium members a total compensation, we were silenced by a consortium member who accused us of having spoken for too long, and since he had to be absent, he imperatively invited us to conclude. point we communicated that we did not want to continue our discussion, we apologized for any useless considerations, for the time we had made to lose and we left the meeting.
Saslong wants to completely dissociate itself from the consortium operators of cableways Val Gardena Alpe di Siusi for its lack of sensitivity towards the hard price paid by all the doctors, nurses, volunteers who with their passionate, professional and exemplary sacrifice have allowed us all to to still be able to talk about purely venal and individualistic things.
We are not there! we want our tourists to remember Val Gardena, Val Gardena and Saslong for their sense of responsibility, sensitivity, altruism and sense of solidarity towards all our compatriots who have lost their lives or loved ones with this pandemic.

We at Saslong not only defend the loss of earnings of some but of "all": hoteliers, restaurateurs, VAT numbers, small, medium, large companies etc etc and unfortunately it will not be with this government or with another that we will solve it because the politicians they speak but do not have the necessary skills to find solutions that only prominent statesmen could find.
We tried to present our solution also to the president of our province but unfortunately, given his many commitments, we did not succeed.
We are totally opposed to any type of financing from Europe as all those who have undergone the closures would not see a penny of those amounts because the bureaucracy and bad politics would absorb all the amounts.
A European emergency insurance fund (which could also be at national or regional or municipal level) with the necessary resources (10,000 billion) financed by the ECB (in the ECB budget does not figure as a loan but rather as a participation) should be established to meet the claims for compensation (net profit plus amortization plus interest) directed by the entitled parties, all certified by the respective accountants and banking institutions. The amount is not non-repayable but must be returned in 15 years at a rate of 0.2%. Furthermore, everyone can choose to have, according to their ability to repay, 100% or less up to 30% of the lost income (net profit plus depreciation plus interest).
It is a simple insurance only that normally the premium is paid first and then the compensation is received, while here the reimbursement of the damage is first taken and then the premiums are paid.
The advantage of this is that we take the flow of funds out of control of the policy. They go directly from the European emergency insurance fund to the final beneficiary (VAT number, company etc etc).
We do not increase the public debt because it is a loan practically disbursed to subjects who repay as they are companies that work and produce. It is not the solution given by a well-known economic operator on television who had proposed to finance the loss of earnings of companies with public debt by forcing only companies not to distribute profits for the next 3/5 years. This is nonsense as it cannot be given away and then created public debt on the shoulders of all Italians.
We hope that the government will come out of this ridiculous pantomime of colors and decrees as it should have done in October a general look down and reopen with tight controls by the army and law enforcement so that we can get out of this once and for all. situation.
We apologize for the length of our complaint but the decision taken deserved some necessary clarification.
