Last weekend the Snowboard World Cup opened in Cardrona, New Zealand.

It's up to the Big Air to open the dances of the World Cup trials and to establish itself in the men's field is the American Chris Corning. The nineteen-year-old from Colorado pockets the third victory in a Big Air test and twelve months later he repeats himself on the New Zealand snows recovering two positions in the second run and reaching the score of 176.25.
His compatriot Red Gerard has to settle for the second step of the podium (161.25) while the Finnish Kalle Jarvilehto is third and finishes with a score of 160.25.
In the women's field, the wind prevented the final from taking place and the results of the qualifications were considered for ranking purposes. For the first time since 2017, it was Enna Rukajarvi from Finland who preceded the British Katie Ormerod to return to the top of the circuit after the heavy injury to the PyeongChang Olympics that forced her to do seven operations. Third step of the podium for the Norwegian Silje Norendal.
