Nirmal Purja in the legend of mountaineering: the 14 Ottomiles of the earth were completed in six months and six days

With the ascent to Shisha Pangma, the 36-year-old Nepalese concludes an incredible sequence.

Nirmal Purja is officially in the history of mountaineering, after completing the 14 eight thousandths of the earth, in a time span of just 6 months and 6 days. At the top of the lowest mountain among the peaks over 8000, the "Project Possible" has become such, among other things in less than those 7 months planned for the company. Last April 23 a great adventure began, climbing Annapurna in the first of three distinct periods, with the first six mountains in Nepal during the spring (Dhaulagiri, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Everest and Makalu followed), the five in Pakistan during the summer (from 3 July on Nanga Parbat, passing through Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II, K2 and Broad Peak) and finally the last three, between Nepal and Tibet, from September 23 between Cho Oyu, Manaslu (27 September) and Shisha Pangma, in this historic 29 October. Purja, nicknamed by all Nims, is in fact in the legend of this sport: in just over half a year, although clearly using oxygen and all the technological supports of this era, he did what Reinhold Messner, the first of always, he succeeded in completing in 1986, completing in fourteen years, three months and 19 days the fourteen most desirable peaks by the mountaineers. Eleven months after the South Tyrolean, it was the Polish Jerzy Kukuczka who succeeded in the enterprise over a period of 7 years, 11 months and 14 days, a record that in 2013 was improved by just over a month by South Korean Kim Chang- I have. Now, the limitless enterprise of Nirmal Purja has moved the bar much higher.
