Kaisheva, Mironova, Loginov and Latypov bring Russia back to the top step of the podium after a long fast. Italy, without Hofer and Wierer who will compete in the Mixed Relay, is a good seventh between highs and lows.

Anais Chevalier (0 + 0) takes advantage of the launch fraction, leading France to the exchange with 11 seconds ahead of the American Egan (0 + 2) and Vanessa Hinz (0 + 0). Tandrevold (0 + 1), Persson (0 + 2) and the Latvian Bendika (0 + 2) are about twenty seconds away. The Russian Kaisheva (0 + 3) at 30 seconds, the Belarusian Alimbekava (1 + 3) at 56.8. Irene Lardschneider is with the first ones up to the standing range where she messes with the magazine and with a 0 + 2 she is seventeenth at 1.16.0.
Denise Herrmann is in pursuit of Justine Braisaz shaking off the American Reid. In the session on the ground she finds herself turning Elvira Oeberg turning the race uphill for Sweden. A few recharges standing up does not substantially change the situation except for the return of an exceptional Mironova (0 + 0) who returns to France. At the mid-race change, Russia has an 8-second lead over Braisaz (0 + 2) and Herrmann (0 + 2). Roeiseland (0 + 3) with Norway is fourth at 12 seconds. Elvira Oeberg (1 + 5) is twelfth at 1.08.7, Lisa Vittozzi (0 + 1) fourteenth at 1.30.9.
After Loginov's shooting session on the ground, Dale and Doll find themselves together 10 seconds ahead of Fabien Claude. The German does not keep up with the Russian-Norwegian duo but limits the damage in the standing shooting session. At the last change Loginov (0 + 2) shows an advantage of 3.6 over Dale (0 + 1), 10.9 over Doll (0 + 2) and 18.3 over Fabien Claude (0 + 4). The large fractions of Kruchinkina (0 + 0) and Bocharnikov (0 + 1) relaunch Belarus in fifth position at 24.5. Nelin (1 + 4) also turns and Sweden is twelfth also overtaken by Thomas Bormolini (0 + 1) which brings Italy back to eighth place at 1.16.7.
The Russian Latypov keeps his head after the first polygon with 15 seconds on Fillon Maillet, Peiffer and Laegreid and the podium now seems to be a foursome. It is the coldness of Fillon Maillet (0 + 0) to get the better of his feet, the last polygon from which he comes out with a 7.6 advantage over Laegreid ((0 + 2) and 9.3 over Latypov (0 + 2) for a final heart-pounding where the first to give up is the French. Russia wins with 0.7 over Norway and 12.1 over France. Dominik Windisch (0 + 4) brings Italy to seventh position at 1.58.8.
