In the first lap Quentin Fillon Maillet maintains a ten-second advantage over Tarjei Boe, Lukas Hofer and Jacquelin. The blue and the transalpine do not miss anything at the first polygon and can take advantage of it to have a handful of seconds on Laegreid and Guigonnat which, in turn, score a 5/5. Fillon Maillet after the penalty lap is at 10 seconds, Tarjei Boe at 21. Johannes Boe is also wrong and finds himself around the tenth position at 37 seconds behind Lukas Hofer.
An action by Antonin Guigonnat puts Laegreid and Fillon Maillet back on the two heads; it is Lukas Hofer, Laegreid and Jacquelin who emerge unscathed from the second session on the ground while Guigonnat and Fillon Maillet find themselves with the Boe brothers (5/5) in about twenty seconds. A little further back Johannes Dale, Christiansen, Jakov Fak, Simon Eder, Lesser and Krcmar. Halfway through the race there are still 13 biathletes in the space of 27 seconds, a mistake at the shooting range.
The three leading players pay an error at the third polygon and find themselves battling with Fillon Maillet, Johannes Boe and Guigonnat who are not wrong. Six great protagonists for three places on the podium. It is Johannes Boe and Guigonnat who dictate the pace to the group of suitors but who appear compact to the polygon of truth.
Only Jacquelin and Fillon Maillet are not wrong and they will play the victory on the last lap; Laegreid, Johannes Boe, Guigonnat and Lukas Hofer pay a mistake and are about twenty seconds chased by a comeback Tarjei Boe.
In the last lap Quentin Fillon Maillet soon leaves an exhausted Jacquelin who is also joined by a wild Johannes Boe. On the finish line Quentin Fillon Maillet (1-1-0-0) wins his third victory of the season ahead of Johannes Boe (1-0-0-1) by 8.0 seconds. Third place at 14.6 Emilien Jacquelin (0-0-1-0), fourth at 18.1 Laegreid (0-0-1-1) and fifth a good Lukas Hofer (0-0-1-1) at 23.4.
