Perfect visibility, wind that is not a factor, altitude profile of the course, the men's Sprint of the baptism of Otepää in the World Cup punishes beyond measure the few errors in shooting turning into a speed test on skis and at the shooting range. The Frenchman Quentin Fillon Maillet (0-0) wins the race, scoring his third win this season in the Sprint race format, allowing himself the best time on skis on which he trims 6 seconds to the Norwegian Laegreid. 8 to Doll, 16 to Christiansen and at least 20 to everyone else. The second place of the day is for Sturla Holm Laegreid (0-0) who pays 7.2 seconds to the transalpine after leaving the shooting range standing with a 3 second advantage; German Benedikt Doll (0-0) is third at 11.1 and precedes Christiansen (0-0), fourth at 16.3, Roman Rees (0-0), fifth at 29.6 while Lithuanian Strolia (0-0) is sixth at 30.1 . The best with an error is Erik Lesser (0-1), seventh at 30.8 and once again in excellent form in these last few races before the announced retirement. The Swiss Weger is eighth at 31.9, preceding by 2.3 the French Fabien Claude (0-0) author of an exceptional second polygon closed in 17.9 seconds. Tenth position at 34.5 for Tarjei Boe (0-0). Good performance of the blue patrol with Lukas Hofer (0-1) who pays 50 seconds at the finish line and is sixteenth followed at 9.7 seconds by Thomas Bormolini (0-0) seventeenth. Tommaso Giacomel (1-1) is twenty-fifth at 1.12.2.
