Norway's winning open streak that does not lose a men's relay race for 11 months is getting longer to five, the last defeat dates back to 13 January in Oberhof. The line-up, unlike many opponents, is that type, the same as last Saturday in Ostersund, with Johannes Dale at the launch, Bjoentegaard and Tarjei Boe in the central fractions and Johannes Boe to close. While Johannes Kuehn confirms that he is among the fittest right now and without having to top up any time, he leads Germany to the top halfway through the race, Bjoentegaard is in danger of becoming the weak link of the day. A round of penalties after an endless session on the ground and two refills standing make Norway seventh down at 53 seconds from the top. Jacquelin with France is second at 21.3, Gow takes Canada third to 28.5.
The award-winning Boe company enters the scene and everything is possible. Fabien Claude has to turn and France loses ground while a perfect Peiffer keeps Germany from vomiting operations; Tarjei Boe, like the German, goes for the 10/10 and is back in second place at 43 seconds, a good Millar is third at 52 with France fourth at 58.
Johannes Boe enters the scene and nothing remains impossible even though Doll performs his task well using only two refills on his feet; after the session on the ground the seconds to be recovered have become 36, in the second lap others 11 are recovered. The last polygon is a textbook for execution times: also the Norwegian uses two refills but it is 12 seconds faster than the 'opponent and Johannes on the last lap completes the impossible mission by closing the last 13-second hole. Norway wins, Germany second at 2.0 while Quentin Fillon Maillet brings Ffrancia in third place at 52 seconds ahead of surprising fourth Canada.
As announced yesterday by himself, Lukas Hofer is missing in Italy due to a cooling problem. Saverio Zini replaces him at the launch, then Thomas Bormolini, Daniele Cappellari and Dominik Windisch to close. Eleven top-ups for the Azzurri, equally distributed among the four fractionists, and 2''38 "4 of detachment from the Norwegians which are worth the eighth final square.
