Let's see what were the statements of the athletes on the podium in today's Pokljuka sprint.
Friday 9 December 2016 5 minutes reading time
Martin Fourcade: "It's the first time I win here in Pokljuka. It was amazing, I have waited so long to do it. It's really a special day for me, because the week was tough. I struggled to recover, perhaps because of the rise, I needed a few more days for assestarmi. When training I had bad feelings, so I decided to use a different strategy and leave quietly. In the second round, however, I started to feel good and then I could give everything. Clearly it was also crucial shoot with 100%, because otherwise I would not have even been on the podium. "
Johannes Bø: "On the last lap I was told that Fourcade was very close, I tried to pick up the pace, but it was not enough. I did not win, but I'm satisfied with my result because I did not feel well all week. Maybe it was at 50%. Probably if I had been better I would have won "
Anton Shipulin: "What happened on Sunday in Östersund (the double-Babikov Tsvetkov) motivated me to do the same. When I saw the start list I realized that would not be an easy race, I knew that Martin Fourcade would leave 30 "after me, and he could join me. I tried to hold their nerve and are pleased to be able to avoid hooking. It's a pity there were no other 200-300 meters, otherwise I would have finished second. If I look at the final results, I see that all the strongest are in the top ten. For this I am sure that tomorrow we will have a fantastic pursuit ".

Laura dahlmeier: "I love Pokljuka, above Lake Bled. It is a very beautiful place, there is always good weather and especially the altitude does not give me 'discomfort. Many strong opponents are games when I had already finished, so I was not sure of success until the race is not over for all. At one point I stiffened, because the muscles have started to make me very badly, but I am pleased to be able to win "
Justine Braisaz: "I am very satisfied with my result. When the coaches told me I was on the track I did not believe their words in my head. If I expected? This morning I did not even want to get up out of bed! I was not sure I could do so well! "
Mars Olsbu: "I heard the lactic acid already in the second round, but I managed to keep a good pace. The latest round was very tough, hurt my ears too. It is a great achievement, especially considering that in Östersund went very badly. It is a surprising podium, I would have never thought to be able to step in the stages before Christmas.
