The start list of the Hochfilzen men's relay: Bionaz confirmed at launch

Tomorrow at 14:00 the start of the men's relay, which will conclude the third stage of the World Cup. The blue quartet is the same one that finished in fifth place in Kontiolahti: Bionaz at the launch and the "big two" in the second and fourth fractions. A shared strategy which, however, is not adopted for the female sector.

In the first fraction, to open the Italian relay, there will be the youngest of the team Didier Bionaz, who touched the points zone in the Pursuit. Following Lukas Hofer and the excellent Thomas Bormolini, with Dominik Windisch in closing. In general, the form of the boys seems to be growing and the goal is to confirm the result obtained in Finland. Other nations (France and Norway in the first place) will fight for the victory and for the podium, but another placement in the top 5 would be an injection of confidence for the Azzurri. The tactical choices of the technical staff are clear: the youngest of the team, who at the moment has shooting as his strength but pays something on skis, is deployed at launch, in the most conservative stage. The two "bigs" (even if Windisch is not in top form) are instead deployed in the second and fourth fraction, with Bormolini, who is guaranteeing an excellent performance and good percentages, in third. The parallels with the women's team could be many and it is natural to wonder why the same strategy is not adopted, perhaps playing the two best cards in the two central fractions. Scrolling through the start list, the absence of Peiffer, who had already missed the Sprint on Friday, and the exclusions of Christiansen for Norway and Desthieux for France should be underlined. The Norwegians will be at the start with Laegreid, Dale and the Boe brothers; France instead lined up Guigonnat at the launch and followed by the Jacquelin - Claude - Fillon Maillet "trident".
