Biathlon World Championships: Mass Start is from Laegreid, Hofer seventh

Sturla Holm Laegreid closes the circle of his first incredible season in the World Cup circuit by winning, after the Individual, also the world title of the Mass Start. Lukas Hofer can fight for the victory and the podium at the last polygon but a mistake forces him to the seventh position.

In the leading group there are five who are not wrong: Jakov Fak, Laegreid, Samuelsson, Eder and Peiffer. a mistake for Lukas Hofer who chases 22 seconds with Johannes Dale and 7 seconds ahead of Johannes Thingnes Boe. Bormolini who is not wrong is eighteenth at 50 seconds. In the third lap, Hofer, Boe and Dale go at a high pace to reduce the gap from the upper floors of the standings. at the entrance of the third polygon there are 20 seconds. Samuelsson skips with two mistakes and finds himself a trio in command with Laegreid, Fak and Eder. Lukas Hofer is not wrong who is fourth at 23.9, 4 seconds ahead of Peiffer, 12 from Tarjei Boe. Two mistakes for Johannes Boe who finds himself chasing at 1.05.6 from the leading group. In the fourth lap Sturla Holm Laegreid attacks and digs 8 seconds ahead of his fellow adventurers while behind they are 30 seconds behind. They are all wrong once and twice Arnd Peiffer; Laegreid faces the last lap with a 10 second gap on Fak and Eder, 21 on Fillon Maillet, 29 on Dale and 36 on Hofer, sixth with the bulky Tarjei Boe close behind. In the last lap Fak and Eder jump for a Norwegian brace at the finish line with Laegreid (0-0-0-1) who wins with 10.2 over Johannes Dale (0-1-1-0). Bronze medal comeback to 12.8 for Quentin Fillon Maillet (1-1-0-0). Fourth Simon Eder (0-0-0-1), fifth Tarjei Boe (0-1-0-1) and sixth at 39.7 Lukas Hofer (0-1-0-1) preceding Johannes Boe (2-0-2 -1).
