2021 Biathlon World Championships
The Swede Martin Ponsiluoma chooses the stage of the Pokljuka World Championships to obtain his first career victory in top level competitions. Norway down from the podium while Hofer and Bionaz are in the top twenty-five.

Martin Ponsiluoma (0 + 0) is the first world champion in individual trials of the 2021 world review. In a Pokljuka where temperatures have dropped compared to the Wednesday of the mixed relay, the Swede, who started with bib number 6, is perfect for shooting and in the group of the best on narrow skis who, in any case, all pay at least thirty seconds to Johannes Thingnes Boe (2 + 0).
The crazy pace is not enough for the Norwegian to recover the two errors paid in the shooting session that push him off the podium, with a fifth place 22.5 behind the winner.
The silver medal goes to Simon Desthieux (0 + 0) who with a great excellent lap recovered two positions to close at 11.2, ahead of compatriot Emilien Jacquelin (1 + 0) by less than 2 seconds. The first of the Norwegians and Johannes Dale (0 + 1), fourth at 22.4, one tenth better than Johannes Boe. Quentin Fillon Maillet (1 + 0), at 23.9, closes the transalpine trio in the top six.
In a very close ranking, the preamble to a Pursuit with white weapon, Sturla Laegreid (0 + 0), third at the exit of the second polygon, is seventh at 25.7 and precedes the Swedish Samuelsson (0 + 1), eighth at 26.7 , Tarjei Boe (0 + 1) ninth at 28.2 and the Russian Latypov (0 + 1) tenth at 33.3.
The best of the Italians is Lukas Hofer (0 + 1) who pays the error to the last target of the day and closes in thirteenth position at 47.6. Good performance by Didier Bionaz (0 + 0) who closed at 1.03.0 in twenty-first position. Thomas Bormolini (0 + 1) is twenty-sixth at 1.17.7, Dominik Windisch (1 + 2) is thirty-third at 1.35.5.
