2021 Biathlon World Championships
Sturla Laegreid, Tarjei Boe, Johannes Boe and Vetle Christiansen bring Norway back to the top of the world of the Men's Relay while France, down from the podium, is forced to abdicate. A decent Italy pays two penalty laps with Giacomel and Windisch and abandons dreams of glory.

Norway, big favorite on the eve of France, has been making a big voice since the launch where Laegreid (0 + 2), consecrated with the Gold medal in the Individual, inflicts 22 seconds behind the competition. To follow Labastau (0 + 1), Guigonnat (0 + 3), a good Bionaz (0 + 3) and Hartweg (0 + 1). All within 30 seconds. Khalili (0 + 2) with Russia is at 36.4, Femling (0 + 3) at 48.1, an impalpable Lesser (0 + 3) at 1.23.0 The second fraction outlines the scenarios: Tarjei Boe (0 + 3) keeps the head while an overwhelming Hofer (0 + 5) pays something to the polygons but is dominant on skis. Halfway through the match, Norway have a lead of 12.4 over Italy and 14.2 over Pidruchnyi's Ukraine (0 + 0); Jakov Fak (0 + 1) brings Slovenia in fourth position while Nelin (0 + 1) with Sweden is eighth at 46.7 together with Quentin Fillon Maillet's France (1 + 4), bad at the shooting range and out of condition on skis. Rees (0 + 0) and Germany are in fifteenth position at 1.44.6.
Johannes Boe (0 + 1) manages the situation and exploits the missteps of his pursuers; the Ukrainian Pryma (0 + 1) limits the damage and at the last exchange Ukraine pays 48.7 and Loginov's Russia (0 + 1) 59.5. Tommaso Giacomel (1 + 3) is masterful up to the standing shooting range where he pays a penalty lap and shows up at the gearbox with a 15 second gap from the podium together with Desthieux (0 + 1) and Ponsiluoma (0 + 3).
Christiansen, on his debut in these World Championships, only has to lead the Norwegian battleship into port and, after the shooting range on the ground, Latypov (5/5) is 55 seconds ahead with 23 ahead of a group composed of Jacquelin ( 5/5), Samuelsson (5/5), Windisch (5/5) and the Ukrainian Dudchenko (3/5). In the last shooting session Windisch (1 + 3) jumps and pays a penalty round while Samuelsson (0 + 0) heels Latypov (0 + 1) and jumps him in the last round. Dudchenko (0 + 3) is fourth and Jacquelin (0 + 3) also raises the white flag forcing France to abdicate after the title won in Anterselva.
On the finish line Norway (0 + 8) wins the world title with 33.1 ahead of Sweden (0 + 7) and 50.9 over Russia (0 + 5). Disappointed France (1 + 11) only fourth ahead of Ukraine (0 + 4) and Italy (2 + 14), sixth at 1.35.5.
