A 9th place that left disappointed after silver a year earlier.
The single mixed of the World Championships in Antholz saw Dorothea Wierer and Lukas Hofer conclude far from the medals area, with a negative key dating back to ... a month ago. The starting bib of the blue pair, or 13, was in fact determined by the result of the two races of CdM in the discipline (the last one in Pokljuka was disputed by Vittozzi and Bormolini), with Wierer who was forced to chase left from the beginning, as he explained well in the post race.
“I was bottled up on the first lap - the analysis of the South Tyrolean - and I couldn't pass. It only got better on the fourth lap, but I had to push hard and in the end I paid. I thought the wind had risen (explaining the 4 mistakes in the last series at the shooting range, ed), but it wasn't like that. A pity, but it's biathlon and I tried it because I felt very good on skis ".
And now we look at the final weekend, with relay (Saturday) and mass start (Sunday): “Today was a very fast and particular race, now we go back to traditional biathlon and I feel charged. I want to try to do something good again. "
